
ANAGA RURAL PARK
Summary
Anaga is a mountainous region and a protected natural area in the northeast of Tenerife. A stunning landscape, known for its green mountains, deep ravines and cliffs that drop abruptly towards the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the oldest areas of the island geologically speaking, and is home to a great biodiversity.
Anaga Rural Park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2015. With a rich variety of flora and fauna, including the laurel forest, a type of subtropical forest, home to endemic species of Macaronesia.
Anaga is a popular spot for hiking enthusiasts, with a network of trails crisscrossing its spectacular landscapes. Among the best-known trails are those that connect Taganana, a charming coastal village, with other areas of the park.
